Flag was a sweet short memory in my life

I knew it when I didn't hear her cry this morning. She died. And, I might have killed her, too.

Miss you already, Flag (Day 4)

I'm sorry you had to die, Flag. I hope you and everybody else know that I wanted to rescue you so that you wouldn't die like what happened to your siblings after you all fell off the tree.

It might have been my fault. I knew you were crying all night long, but I was too sleepy in my bed so I couldn't provide you with warmth that you needed.

Just for you to know, I was very touched when I saw you sleeping after I fed you yesterday. You were definitely a sweet 3-day short memory in my life.

You were sleeping because, I knew, you were full and well fed. You were not even crying (Day 3)

I really wanted to see you grow up as a beautiful mature bird. I really, really did. I imagined that when grown mature you would always follow me, sleep in my drawer, and we would have fun in my room while I was working.

R.I.P, Flag.
Funny, as I finished reading the novel last night (The Yearling), Flag the deer in story also died at the end of the story. Jody the keeper was horribly sad and was not home for three days.

Please read these too:
Day 1: I found the bird
Day 2: I named her Flag
Day 3: The day before she died

  3. RIP Flag, I'm very sorry for your loss Rad. It reminds me of a short story about Mother Theresa back at high school, she hold an old ill man on the street and comfort him before he died. She was sad but happy too, because the old man got the chance to feel that he is being treated as a human even just for a while before he dies. I'm sure little Flag feel the same too.

  4. it's quite weird that I feel sad for little black bird I've never even seen before :( I mean, I love how mysterious it is being black, and how very little it is :((

RIP Flag (shall I say thank you not naming him/her my name?? :|) you will be missed, and maybe just maybe you can play with Tiger up there :) he's one great companion, I mean sure he loves to eat little birds but.. you can't be dead twice, no? So it'll be fun, like maybe sylvester and tweety <3

  6. @Steph: Thanks! I need a lot of such words! A friend said I should feel guilty. I actually do feel guilty in a way... but I hope I had done my best to help her survive.

@Tiara: Hehe, yea we talked about naming her after you. I can see why you're glad now! :p And... I didn't know about Tiger! Sorry to hear that!
Regarding the story... you're right! I didn't think that'd be such a very bad spoiler! :p
