I met real Flag the Deer from The Yearling

I've been reading The Yearling by Majorie Kinnan Rawlings, and there are 25 pages left until the end of the book. I really enjoyed the story. No wonder that the book won a Politzer Price in 1939. By the way, the reason why I mentioned the book is because there is a deer in the story called Flag -after which I named my little bird pet. Today, I actually went to see some deer with my mom. All that I was thinking of in my head was Flag from the book. It felt like I was meeting him.

In the story, Flag is supposed to grow up just exactly like this deer -with the white spots, according to the description in the story

I fed him young bamboo leaves as, I think, I read in the story that the deer loved eating young bamboo leaves

Now that I'm at the end of the book, I'm thinking of getting another novel and, I think, I'm gonna get one from the same author since I liked how the story was told in The Yearling. I'll probably go tomorrow as I also need to get a new shaver, more body washes, a body butter, and some other related stuff. And, perhaps a new shirt for a wedding that we're attending next weekend. So, I'm excited about that.

BTW, my bird Flag is doing ok. So, I'm pretty happy with that too.
