Today sucked. Yesterday didn't.
Today I woke up to finding my laptop still not working properly. Yesterday we had a nice excursion towards the volcano for lunch.
The owner of Rumah Makan Timbul Roso. Yeah, right!Tomorrow should be fine.
Tomorrow by evening the laptop should be able to be used again.

Well it was our first time, except for my dad.
ReplyDeleteWhat we liked: grilled Gurame/tilapia and chicken with honey, the sambals, the ginger drinks with real ginger and brown sugar, I don't exactly remember what everybody else ordered haha. I was too busy with my meal!
What we didn't like and eat: cah kangkung. They were bad in a way that the leaves didn't look so green and fresh and the cook didn't put so much garlic which is what should be found and tasted in cah kangkung. :)
sounds like good, traditional, healthy comfort food. i like kangkung, but i've never tried 'cah kangkung' before. i guess it must be fairly similar to malay & chinese ways of stir-frying kangkung, but maybe with slightly different spices & accompaniments. wow, now you're making me wanna go have an indonesian meal this week. maybe ayam penyet =)

ReplyDeleteOoh, my uncle runs a famous restaurant specializing in Ayam Penyet in Jakarta called Pondok Laras. We often get a whole chicken for free when they're paying a visit! :))
Heh, yeah, and the Thais cook kangkung too. I wonder if the Filipinos do too :D Wow, we have quite a few ayam penyet outlets in kl, at least a dozen, including several at shopping malls, and they all taste the same, so I figure the outlets here must be fairly authentic, with the same spices used as those in Jakarta =)
