Sragen

I woke up this morning ready to do what I had written the night before in my agenda which included going to a paint shop to look for a navy blue paint, going to a lighting store for a white Christmas-y lighting, going to the ACER shop to check out their ultrabooks, and lastly going to the animal market. All was ruined. I got a call from my brother in a different town and was told that I should be going with everyone else downstairs to Sragen and also that we would be meeting up there. Apparently during my sleep-in this morning everyone had discussed the plan to go to Sragen for the meet up.

I almost rejected the offer -which felt more like a demand(!) for all that I had planned. I still went at the end. So, we left at 10AM-ish in our car.

Well, the main purpose of going to Sragen was actually for visiting my grandma's tomb. She died last year. We took advantage of the moment to meet up.

We visited a lot of places in that small region. Among them was this place of a friend of my dad's. Across from his house lays a large area of rice fields. I quickly wore the sandals and walked into the area. I got sooooo attracted and interested. Here are some evidence that I was there(!): -Hehe

Check out this beautiful view!

This one too!

I don't really get bored of being in the middle of a wide area of rice fields.

Guess what these two guys were doing.

Yup, guiding these cute ducks! Can't you even spot them? I know, right, they blend so well!

Me very tall.

The seeds. There was some serious contrast going on between yellowish brown and green! Basically between death and life! ;))

I don't really like this photo actually for my too serious looking face but the sun was just way too bright and if I faced the other direction you would just see some houses in the background instead. But I wanted to share this one.

Oh, at a different location earlier in the day, one of my too many uncles showed us this cage that he made for these birds:

The budgies!

And, couples were everywhere! This is one of them. They wouldn't stop kissing each other. And, the male bird would scare any bird that was near them. How sweet and inspiring! ;))

Obviously, if you joined us, you would have seen and known much much much muuuuuch more than I could ever tell you from this posting. I really just wanted to share the photos as they pretty much could help you understand what was going on already.

BTW, the things that I had in my agenda for today will be done tomorrow instead. The paint shop and lighting store visits are actually related to me decorating my room. Since the past week I have actually been rearranging my room and added some new stuff to the room. I'm close to the final done done result. This project has been going on since early this year and I'm very close to the end of the project. I can't wait to share it. It won't be extravagant but at least I will have finished what I wanted to achieve.

Hope you had a great day or night. Thanks for taking your time to read! :)
Night night!

FYI, Sragen is small region about 3-4 hours away by car in a normal traffic toward the east from Yogyakarta which is much more developed. You can still find a lot of rice fields over there -which I almost never fail to enjoy(!).

  1. I love walking by rice fields too!

And you really did find a contrast there, between the green and the brown! Nice shots. :)

So after the trip, did you manage to somehow do your planned errands?

  2. I like your photos of the rice fields, Rad. It looks quite pretty there. I don't understand what the guys guiding the ducks are trying to do. Are they trying to guide them out of the fields? It was neat to see anyway. I didn't know you could guide ducks like that.

I liked seeing the budgies too. I hope you are able to get to those things you wanted to do on your agenda today. I know how that is when you make plans to do something and then must change your plans to please someone else. Have a great day! :)
