So, I've not been busy but there's been nothing much going on lately apart from my focus on the room decor. A few minutes ago I just replaced my old tacky curtains with the new ones that I had ordered two days ago. The material of the new curtains is a little bit pearl like shiny. Just a little bit. I like it that way because it can play with the lighting.
Slim rack...
Today I bought a white wooden slim rack at Lotte Mart for in front of my window where I place some books and other stuff that used to sit on a low dark wooden table which I didn't like so much being in my room.
Smells good...
My room is getting even much more comfortable now. It also smells real good as I have a room deodorant hanging at one corner. I also ordered a couple of more custom pillow cases which are in white color(!) I'm a huge fan of white color, you know.
Painting frame...
While at Lotte Mart I also found a perfect painting frame measuring 50cm x 60cm -that is for the actual area for the painting, and another 10cm for the actual white wooden frame. I will get one and will take time next week to make a simple painting. I'm planning on hanging the painting up against the wall where the head part of my bed is laying.
Custom rug...
The only part of the whole episode of this room decoration that has been very struggling for me to accomplish is the flooring. I have not been able to find a perfect custom rug that simply comes in white-ish color. All of the rugs I've encountered at different stores have been patterned and of several colors. However, I know that I will get the rug that I need for the room someday! Ahaha sounds like I'm in an adventure of finding a mysterious treasure.
Beddddd...
Tomorrow, I will order a custom bed cover. I want it fat and comfy, oh, and in white! Hehe. I don't like thin, skinny, blanket like bed covers. And, also, I hope to be able to find a good store that sells beds. I just found out that the bed that's been sitting in this room measures 100cm x 200cm. I need a 120cm x 200cm one instead to fit the room perfectly. Besides, my new bed sheet measures the same length and width as the latter specification.
Yikes!
So, basically, I am getting closer to having my room finally redecorated completely. I cannot wait. It's been exciting. And, quite pricey too! Yikes! I will need to stop using my money in the bank accounts and also my credit card for a while after I'm done with all of this. I will need to.
Motivation...
The whole purpose of this room redecoration thing is that I will want to be able to have a little home that I'll always be excited to stay in and look forward to when I'm out in the hot sunny days. I will want a more motivational room when I'm studying, doing my work, resting, and sleeping. I have noticed a difference at night in my sleep with this so-far decoration that I have in this room. So, I cannot wait to feel even much more comfortable being in this room.

Is it cheaper to custom make pillow cases than to buy it off the rack in indo?
ReplyDeleteNot always. I ordered custom ones because the ones at the stores are not the right sizes. And also I want pillow cases with a longer border or wing... if you know what I mean. :)

Helloo mas Rad, don't forget to put a plant in the room. You can get more fresh oxygen in your room that way :), I still remember all the smoke when a sepeda motor goes by.

DeleteI ordered the bed sheet at Leaf. It's a branch. The main office where the production is happening is located on the lane beside Melia Purwosani hotel towards Malioboro road towards the East.
I ordered my additional pillow cases at Zaara. It's one of the Indian fabric stores on Jalan Solo. It says on a big banner outside their store "up to 50% off" or something like that.
I might make a custom bed cover from them too. I haven't talked about the details. I need a custom one because I want more dacron in the bed cover so that it's not so thin.

DeleteThere's such a fine balance when decorating. It can be so rewarding but so frustrating at the same time. In the end I though I think it's all worthwhile when you have your finished product to rest in.
ReplyDeleteActually, it's been fun to me as I accomplished some of the things that I wanted to accomplish as far as the room decor goes. But, of course, there has been a lot of money to spend! ;))
Deletehome decor is always fun and some days costly but its worth it afterall we call it our home. the limit is so long we don't become slaves to our homes as far as cleaning and expenses is concerned.
