Busy weekend!

Oh, so it's midnight and we just got back from our weekend trip to Semarang where my brother lives. The city is about 3 hours away from Yogyakarta by car.

I'm super tired right now. I'm forcing myself a little bit to write this blog post right now because I have sooooo much work to do. I was still working a bit in the weekend. Tomorrow is going to be super busy. Morning will be spent at the uni for a freshman orientation. The rest of the day will be spent for werkz! Yikes!

I will just write and post photos taken over the last weekend. It was all fun, for sure! Don't worry I'll keep it short!

Enjoy!

Saturday 11

11PM In the morning I was busy working until 11, and we all went to a wedding. Really, we took advantage of the joyous event so we could fill our stomach before we went on the road later the day towards Semarang.

2PM We left the house for Semarang. I forgot to pack!! ;)) I threw random clothes into my backpack and made sure I had my phone and iPad in the back too, of course. I knew I would have to do some work.

3:30PM We lunched at this favorite stop-by restaurant of ours called Iwak Kali. They have two branches. This is the big(gest) one. They have this large farm behind the restaurant.

Juuump!!

Sunday 12

7:30AM I was invited by my brother to a photography event held by a local newspaper company (Suara Merdeka). The event was called Suara Merdeka Photo Rally. Basically the participants were given three themes/topics of photos that they needed to capture.

Long story short, among places we went to, one of them was Kota Lama (lit. old town).

1PM My brother and I agreed with everybody else to meet at the mall Paragon not far from where the photography event was. We only had lunch. And, finally!! Ahahahaha! After a long while, I had sushi! I had to order from the two outlets because it's not everyday I can have sushi!

I was quite full already so I only ordered two portions.

5:30PM I did as much work as possible using my iPad. And, I realized I almost forgot to make a vlog of the day! I don't know what reminded me! Here's the video: video

9PM We began our journey back home to Yogyakarta.

Basically that was it. It was not even two full days. Such a short trip but super hectic to me, at least.

Have a good day or night ahead!

Arrrghhh need to sleep and wake up quite early for the orientation!
Nite nite!

  1. That farm looks pretty big. Sounds like you had a fun but busy time. The pictures from the photo rally look very interesting. I've never tried sushi. I don't know if I'd like it. Good luck at your orientation. :)

    1. If you like how raw fish smells (not necessarily in a bad way), you should like sushi! ;)

Thanks! I'm just taking time right now replying to the comments before heading off for the orientation! :)

    1. I know right! if the town was completely abandoned and not well preserved, I'm sure, it would have gotten a different name like 'abandoned town' or 'nobody-cares town' ahahahah

    1. Ahahah but I guess that depends on what makes us busy over the weekend. If it is by something that is not exciting, I think I would rather do nothing and sleep ;))

  7. Lunching at Iwak Kali must be nice. One thing for sure, the food are fresh since they have their own farm! That's so cool!

The photography event sounds fun too.

Glad you were having such a productive weekend but don't forget to rest too. :)

    1. It was quite refreshing to see the farm from out table! :) It was also quite cold which is why I was wearing my cardigan.

The photography event felt so long! It was a hot sunny day!

I am going to rest in an hour and it's already 11PM! I need to catch up some of you guys' blogs first before bed! yikes!

    3. Hmmm actually no, not really. It was rather cold because it just finished raining and the clouds are not gone yet. It was a good weather though! :)

  10. A restaurant with a farm behind it ensures the freshest produce! Now if only restaurants in KL could adopt the same philosophy - understandably more difficult since it is the capital city. :P

Love the shots of Kota Lama - reminds me of parts of my hometown Malacca.

    1. This restaurant is not located in town either, or very near it. It is about an hour drive from town. Hehe
